KOSCIUSKO — The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department would like the community’s assistance in locating an individual responsible for the hit and run death of Ronald L. Strieby.
On Sept. 11, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a man lying along the roadway on CR 800N, northwest of North Webster. When emergency personnel arrived they located Strieby deceased along the north side of the roadway next to his bicycle.
Strieby was riding his bicycle westbound on CR 800N when he was struck from behind by a westbound pick-up truck. The pick-up truck then left the scene of the crash and continued westbound.
Investigators have spoken with several witnesses who saw a pick-up truck traveling at a high rate of speed westbound at what would have been after Strieby was struck. Those witnesses along with evidence located at the scene of the crash lead investigators to believe that the vehicle that stuck Strieby is a white or light colored 2007 or 2008 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pick-up truck. This vehicle is believed to have heavy damage to the passenger side headlight area and hood.
Attached is a photograph of a vehicle that possibly matches the one that struck Strieby. This photograph is not of the actual vehicle,
